Fall in Love with Plaid

Fall is by far my favorite season of the year and I could not be happier for a season change. With cooler mornings and crisp autumn breezes blowing around the falling leaves, I can’t help but think of fall as the perfect time of year to turn over a new leaf. I embrace change, especially after a tough season, and with every season I tend to do a little life cleaning to make way for transformation. Whether that means purging unnecessary things around the house, organizing a daunting closet, simplifying my schedule, redecorating a space in my house, going through old paperwork, doing a social media cleanse (the end of summer for me meant the end of Facebook…. feels so good) or simply donating unworn clothing and changing over my wardrobe. I was more than happy to tuck away my sundresses and short to make room in my closet for cozy knits and leather boots. But one of my favorite looks this season is plaid…. oh how I love my purple and blue flannel shirt in the picture above. Originally I always thought of plaid as a masculine wardrobe piece but with the right accessories it can be the perfect feminine touch. Thanks Pinterest for all these amazing fall outfits below, I will be referring to them often over the next couple months!

The birds fly south for the winter not because it’s cold, but because they have wings. Similarly, love has the ultimate flight pattern, and that pattern is plaid. ~ Jarod Kintz
