This DIY project has been another one of my saving graces as a new mom. Every day I ask myself the same question “What the heck should I make for dinner?” Don’t get me wrong… when I have time I love cooking, I just hate thinking of what to cook. Especially when it’s the end of the day and I’m
In the midst of dirty diapers, laundry and trying to make myself and the house presentable by the end of the day, if I haven’t planned ahead I’m left resorting to the same circulation of meals over and over again. Spaghetti, stir fry, salad, lather, rinse, repeat. So this menu planner forces me to take 15 minutes aside each week to plan our meals. That way I’m only making one grocery list as opposed to making grocery store runs every other day. And the extra bonus: With my mum dumbs…. aka my lingering pregnancy brain, this menu board helps me actually remember what I planned for dinner. I bought the frame at a dollar store for $2, and the paper for $1 so for a whopping $3 (and 5 minutes of time) this is the ultimate craft and time-saving tool. All you need is a frame of your choice, some decorative scrapbook paper, a permanent marker and a dry erase marker. That’s all!
Simply cut the paper to fit your frame, and write your days of the week with permanent marker (if you don’t trust your own penmanship you could print it off as well). Then put the paper in the frame, grab a dry erase marker and you’re set!
