Chocolate Dipped Pretzels

I’ve reached the end of my Christmas baking extravaganza. These chocolate dipped pretzels were super easy, very fun and inexpensive. You can find all different sizes and shapes of pretzels at any grocery store. Then just choose your type of chocolate (white, milk or dark chocolate) and melt it over the stove or in the microwave.  Dip pretzels into the chocolate and sprinkle with whatever toppings you like and cool on parchment paper. That’s it! There are so many possibilities too. Add peppermint extract into melted white chocolate and sprinkle pretzels with chopped candy canes or dip pretzels into dark chocolate topped with chopped nuts and a dash of rock salt or maybe simply dipped in milk chocolate. Let me know what you create! Here are a couple of pictures from the baking weekend.

I tend to be a little messy sometimes when i’m baking

So after all this baking madness, what do I have to show for it?! Well I have several Christmas tins full of guilty pleasures and a few pairs of jeans that seem to have shrunk a full size. I’ve also almost completely convinced myself that eight gingersnaps and a chocolate dipped pretzel count as a well-rounded breakfast. Besides…. how many sugar cookies do I have to eat to equal a full serving of dairy anyways?! Just when I thought I was all goodied-out, our mailbox was bombarded with holiday magazines. Each one filled with even more decadent desserts to try. Darn you Canadian Living and Chatelaine!

Baking is like washing dishes–the results are equally temporary.
