Afternoon Coffee…

In the Okanagan our winters are definitely not known for much sun. The gorgeous mountains surrounding our valley tuck in the clouds right around the time we start tucking our hands into gloves. So on the fall and winter days when we do get sun I’m all over it like a duck on a june bug. When I woke up Sunday morning to blue skies I was more than ready to bundle up and spend the day enjoying the weather. After my hubby finished putting up our Christmas lights I practically pulled him off the ladder to join me. We hopped into my NEW car for a mini road trip. On the other side of the lake about a 20 minute drive from our house rests my favourite coffee shop Bliss Bakery. They have amazing fresh food, home-baked goodies and superb coffee. It is nestled on the lakes shore surrounded by open water and pebbled pathways. Basically it’s the bees knees. So we walked along the beach all afternoon, enjoyed organic coffee and baked treats, skipped rocks on the beach and watched the sunset. Insert dramatic ‘awwwwwww’.  Of course I brought my new camera so I was sipping and snapping all afternoon. It’s a dangerous thing when I have liquid and electronics so close together but coffee cups are basically adult sippy cups so I wasn’t too worried. Just a few of my shots from the afternoon….

This is my favourite shoreline on the entire 135 km stretch of Okanagan Lake

Tree hugger

My focus was the beauty of this tree, so I didn`t even notice the old couple on the dock when capturing this

A sneek peek of love

I was drawn to this cool bark

Sunshine reflecting off wave tossed pebbles

I stayed and enjoyed the sun on my face while my hubby played with the camera

Best seat in the house

My hubby skips rocks while I`m busy writing with them…opposites do attract

Looks inviting but this rustic ladder won`t accomodate any swimmers til next summer

All these bubbles popped up from skipping rocks. I loved the magnification in the middle.

This is why I live where I do

The last ball was hanging on….maybe long enough to serve as a natural Christmas ornament?

I love this little sunbathing bird. I took this picture from far away trying not to scare him, but my hubby walk within feet of him before he took flight

Perfect ending to a Sunday night

Beauty at it’s finest
